Oh Boy!
The Indian security establishment can hardly be accused of sagacity. But still, the sheer stupidity of some of our head honchos, the men and women who are responsible for ensuring the safety of the one billion Indians, leaves one dazed.
Take M.K Narayanan, our national security advisor. In a recent interview thus spake our man.
“We have connectivity, we have linkages, we have confessions, we have a number of arrests made on the basis of confessions which is pretty good. But there are pieces of the puzzle which are not available,” he said. “If the court thinks that it requires a foolproof picture, maybe it will be difficult,” he said
Ah! Here is the thing Mr. Narayanan. Please write it down and keep it in your lapel pocket. Next time before you talk of evidence and ISI involvement in terror attacks, read it carefully.
Pakistan is NOT a court of law. India is not obliged to furnish proof which meets the standards of a court of law. That Pakistan will never accept any evidence is a foregone conclusion, but quite apart from that, a reasonable belief of Pakistani involvement is sufficient for India to act. That is, if India actually wants to act. And that is the only thing which matters.
Sigh! And on this man lies the responsibility of our security?
Update- My bad, the interview is on CNN-IBN. Please watch/read the whole thing. This man is as sad as he looks!
