Blast In Samjhauta Express
After a lull of few months, terror has returned to stalk India. A blast has ripped through Attari bound Samjhauta Express killing at least 65 people. The government is cagey about blaming anyone-with Home Secretory V.K Duggal refusing to confirm sabotage.
Strangely enough, Hindustan Times has already deciphered the real reason for the blast.
The suspected terrorist bombing – said to be triggered by improvised explosive devices (IED) – was clearly aimed at derailing the peace process between India and Pakistan as Indian and Pakistani nationals, most of them poor people, were targeted in the attack.[Link]
Even more strangely, CNN-IBN is parroting President Musharraf’s line of India and Pakistan being equal victims of terror-just because a few Pakistani nationals were also killed in the attack. While any loss of life is regrettable, loss pf Pakistani lives cannot be used to absolve Pakistan of it’s responsibility in fostering terror in India and elsewhere. Despite proclamations to the contrary, it continues to support anti-India terrorist organizations.
The real dangers of joint mechanism on terror are now coming to the fore. India is wary of offending the Pakistanis and disrupting the so-called peace process. This blogger won’t be surprised if India joins Pakistan in blaming unknown terrorist groups and assorted enemies of peace.
